This winter Greenagers will collaborate with the Trustees of Reservations and Great Barrington Trails and Greenways to offer an exciting workshop series involving draft animal power in forestry. We will work with local oxen, horses and their teamsters to pull logs out of the forest and mill them on-site for use on-site. The workshops will interweave the history of draft power, forest ecology, and sustainable lumber harvesting within the workday.
Saturday, February 4: Bartholomew’s Cobble, Sheffield (Trustees of Reservations).
Saturday, February 11: Lake Mansfield Conservation Forest, Great Barrington (GB Trails).
These workshops are open to the public. We hope you will join us!
