Women in Conservation & Agriculture
September 22, 2022 at 9:00am–2:30pm
A one-day conference for high-school age young women. The goal of the summit is to increase awareness about work in these traditionally male-dominated fields and to introduce the young women to local women professionals in these fields who can share their experiences and their knowledge. 75-80 young women (students from five participating schools) will spend the day at April Hill Conservation and Education Center, engaging in workshops ranging from tree climbing/arboriculture to vegetable gardening to mitigate climate change to invasive species to turtle tracking. Workshops will be accompanied by a panel discussion/Q&A session and a keynote speech by Jen Salinetti of Woven Roots Farm.
