River Walk
Greenagers is very proud of its collaboration with Great Barrington’s Housatonic River Walk. Greenagers and the River Walk have partnered on a number of occasions over the last two years; now, Greenagers will be the official stewards of this National Recreation Trail. Continue reading “River Walk”
April Vacation Volunteer Days
Saturday, April 16th: Front Lawn Food garden boxes installation. Greenagers youth and staff will be traveling to the homes of 2011 FLF garden recipients to install their garden boxes, fill them with soil, and plant out one bed with cold veggies. Meet at the Greenagers Center at 8:30 a.m. for bagels and coffee/tea. Lunch break (yummy Baba Louie’s) at 1. Back at it at 1:30 until finish.
Thursday, April 21st: Trail work at French Park. Meet at Greenagers Center at 9:30 a.m.
Friday, April 22nd: Continuation of garden box installations. Meet at Greenagers Center at 1:30 p.m. We should be done by 4:30.
Saturday, April 23rd: Greenagers is collaborating with River Walk on their annual Earth Day trail preparation day. Let’s get the trail ready for another beautiful season! Meet at Greenagers Center at 8:45 a.m.
Volunteering
Greenagers hosts many environmental stewardship volunteer days throughout the year. We partner with local trail and land organizations and Community Supported Agriculture Farms in Berkshire County to establish one-day projects for group involvement.

Community Crew
The Greenagers Community Work Crew is a summer youth employment program emphasizing community service and environmental stewardship. In partnership with local land organizations, land trusts, and farms, Greenagers employs eight youth and one leader for part-time educational, skills building, and good ole’ fun, challenging work throughout the summer. Youth on the Community Crew work throughout July and August, Monday to Wednesday, 8:30 to 5, and receive $8.50-$9.50/hour. The application period for the 2013 season is now closed.
