Greenagers is facing an urgent challenge. Midway through the first year of our contract, the federal government terminated our $291,000 AmeriCorps grant, leaving us with a $141,000 gap in funds that were meant to support the six AmeriCorps members currently serving and 10 additional service members this summer.
This funding was taken away from our Americorps members and taken from our whole community. Their service has been creating and improving public lands all around Berkshire County and offering outdoor education to students across the region in afterschool and out-of-school programs.
We’ve already raised $91,000, thanks to the incredible and fast support of individuals in our community and 2 local foundations. This includes a $50,000 challenge pledge from Nion Robert Thieriot Foundation.
Please help us meet the $50,000 challenge.
Molly, Zach, Brae, Jake, Brian, and Jacob came to Greenagers with a promise: to serve this community with their hands, hearts, and hard work. The government broke its promise but they have kept theirs.
We’re determined to honor our commitment to these young leaders and others by creating meaningful opportunities for them to learn, grow, and give back. But we can’t do it alone.
Will you help us bridge this gap and keep this work going? Together, we can turn this challenge into a powerful story of the strength of community.
