We’re getting ready for another great season of our Community Work Initiative, a summer youth employment program here at Greenagers paying local youth to work on local trails, farms/markets, and conservation land. This year, we are thrilled to offer yet more work. We will manage three trail crews, 2 River Walk apprenticeships, and three positions at the Berkshire Farmers’ Market. Greenagers hosts Community Volunteer Days on the third Saturday of the every month. This Saturday, November 17th, we will be working at the beautiful Berkshire Botanical Gardens, removing invasives. We will meet at the Greenagers office (33 Rossetter St, Great Barrington) at 8:30 a.m. and return around 2:30. Lunch provided!

This Saturday, October 20th, we will be working on the trails at the beautiful Mount Hunger Preservation, owned by the Monterey Preservation Land Trust. We will meet at the Greenagers office (33 Rossetter St, Great Barrington) at 9 a.m. and return around 1:30. Apple cider donuts and cider for all!
Tuesday, October 9th and Wednesday, October 10th, 2:30-5 pm: Learn how to build trail kiosks with Greenagers! Led by Will Conklin, the workshops will incorporate timberframing techniques; the result will be beautiful kiosks, contructed from locally sourced and milled lumber, for the Monterey Preservation Land Trust and the Appalachian Mountain Club. Join Simon’s Rock students and Greenagers this Saturday, September 29th, for a day of work on local trails. This is part of Rock the Community, an opportunity for Simon’s Rock students to give back to the community. We’ll be working on trails for four local organizations: River Walk, Lake Mansfield (GBLC), Sheffield Land Trust, and the Appalachian Mountain Club. The day will be broken into two sessions: River Walk and Lake Mansfield from 9-12 and Sheffield Land Trust and AMC from 1-4.
