Volunteer Day at French Park – Trail Improvement

Greenagers is hosting a trail improvement volunteer day at French Park in Egremont THIS SATURDAY, the 22nd.  Well be meeting at the Greenagers office at 9:30 a.m. and expect to be returning to the office between 1:30 and 2:00.

No registration required, but volunteers under 18 must have a signed waiver in order to participate.  Do bring a snack, water, and good footwear.

Hope to see you on Saturday!  French Park is a great park with wonderful trails – we look forward to spending time on them.

 

Run for the Hills! This Sunday, the 16th.

Great Barrington Land Conservancy’s Run for the Hills. 5K run/walk is this Sunday, October 16th. Registration between 8 & 9 a.m. Race begins at 9:30. For details, including race route, visit: GBLC. An Evening with Barry Lopez

Project Native presents An Evening with Barry Lopez, a National Book Award-winning author and essayist. Mr. Lopez’s talk is titled, “A Different Kind of Citizenship: Maintaining Good Relations with the Earth.” Join us for this wonderful event at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington on Thursday, September 22nd, 8 pm. Greenagers Trail Crew Begins New Season

The Greenagers Trail Crew began the 2011 season on Tuesday, July 5th.  8 local youth – Matt, Christina, Carina, Mary, Max, Jenifer, Tanner, and Eitan – will work part-time throughout July and August on local trails and conservation lands.  Their partner crew, the Greenagers Farm Crew, will begin work on July 18th.

The trail crew started the summer off at St. James Church, clearing brush and removing invasive species. Wednesday, July 6th and Thursday, July 7th, you will find the Crew at the Berkshire Natural Resources Council’s Alford Spring property in Alford, MA.

June Movie Announced

Of the three movie options selected by our Youth Advisory Board, Facebook friends have chosen Monty Python and The Holy Grail as June’s movie!  Excellent choice.

Movie will be shown at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington on Friday, June 10th, at 7 p.m.  There will be a costume contest – so come in your best mediaeval/Holy Grail outfit.

Movie tickets are just $8, with proceeds to benefit Greenagers’ 2011 programming.  Don’t miss a night of pure (and not so pure) hilarious fun!
