While the rest of Berkshire County did its best to survive record-breaking
heat last week, a mighty team of Greenager volunteers, led by the great Will
Conklin, were down at the Housatonic River Walk spreading 85 tons of surface
material over a half mile of trail-with nothing more than wheelbarrows,
buckets, shovels, rakes, and willpower that just wouldn't quit.

Five hundred man/woman-hours later, River Walk has a brand new trail and by
the look of things, planet Earth has a rising can-do generation to fix the
problems the rest of us are leaving behind.

Thank you Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and National Park Service Rivers,
Trails & Conservation Assistance for the financial support. And thank you
Robbie, Henry, Jen, Jamison, Nicole, Dakota, Sam, Christian, Ben, Matt,
Nate, Audrey, Demitri, Charlotte, Kayla, Laura and Nina-for one of River
Walk's finest moments. It was an honor and privilege to work alongside you.
