Wind Power Hearing

Area residents can put in their 2 cents on wind power this Wednesday. The state Executive Office of Environmental Affairs is holding a public hearing beginning at 6 p.m. on June 24th at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. The state is exploring the development of wind turbines along some ridgelines in Western Mass. EEA Secretary Ian Bowles has directed Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Commissioner Rick Sullivan and Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Commissioner Philip Giudice to preside over the upcoming public session, which will include an overview of wind power and siting issues, and provide an opportunity for testimony by elected officials and members of the public.
